CWSAN provides support to new and existing
member groups, aimed at developing local
capacity and enhancing skills and knowledge.
This has included training, group
development and specific assistance in, for
example, negotiation, facilitation,
developing constitutions, facilitating AGM’s
and advising and playing an active role in
interview panels.
CWSAN plays a key role in encouraging member
groups to undertake small and achievable
projects. This has included ‘sign-posting’
to other organisations, clarifying the role
of agencies, helping to put strategic
packages together, or acting as a ‘broker’
to enable groups to access new skills and
training services. The network encourages
the idea of ‘partnership’ among all shared
community interests in order to improve the
chances of successfully addressing rural
interests and needs.
CWSAN currently has 45 member groups, all of
which are rural community organisations. The
network facilitates all those groups in the
area with a community ethos and mandate.
Membership of CWSAN is open to all such
groups at a nominal fee of £10.00 per annum.
